Our private ground tours are unique because it is owned and operated by locals in Hāna who knows all the ins and outs of the land. Not only will you experience all the beauty that Hāna and Maui has to offer, but you will also learn about our cultural values, history, and customs.

You will be be traveling leisurely with one of our local tour guides in a Jeep Gladiator, which seats 3 adult guests comfortably. This is quite different than most Hāna tours where you would be traveling in a bus with 50 other guests for 7 hours, following a rigid itinerary.

KAHANU GARDENS AND PIILANI HEIAU TOUR

Nestled in the one of the largest native hala (Pandanus) forests in the Islands, Kahanu Garden grows in splendid isolation. It is situated in the Honoma'ele Ahupua’a and the home to Pi'ilanihale Heiau, a massive lava-rock structure that is believed to be the largest ancient man made structure in Polynesia. Learn about the cultural relationships between people and these remarkable plants that were transported around the Pacific on ancient voyaging canoes.

WAI’ANAPANAPA STATE PARK

Waianapanapa State Park is one of Hana most scenic and historical landmark. It’s small black pebbles make up the famous Pailoa Bay black sand beach. The legendary fresh water caves is the highlight of Waianapanapa, therefore being named “the glistening waters”. Legend has it that one of the cave was once the hideout of a Hawaiian princess who fled from her husband. Experience the park’s beauty and learn about the fate of of the princess.

KOKI BEACH AND HAMOA BEACH

Voted to be one of Hawaii’s most beautiful beaches, the white sands of Hamoa and Koki beach, overlooking the famous Alau island will capture that perfect Hawaiian moment. The loko i’a fish pond here was built many generations ago is still used by fishermen today. Learn about the art of net throwing, different fishes, tides and proper protocol.


WAILUA FALLS

Of the many famous waterfalls in Maui, it is said that Waialua Falls is the most photographed. Wailua falls will capture you with over a 100 feet cliff side of falling fresh mountain water.

HANA TOWN

Largely unchanged by time, Hana Town is made up of a couple general stores, a post office, a gas station, The Hotel Hana Maui, and just a handful of essential services for locals and visitors. The town sits above Hana Bay, which overlooks the famous Kauiki Hill, an old battle fortress used to defend the people from invasion coming from the big island.

CHARLES LINDBERGH’S GRAVE

The famous American aviator was the first person to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. Of all the places that Charles has traveled, Kipahulu in Hana always held a special place in his heart. One of Charles’ final wishes was to be laid to rest here in Hana. The serene Palapala Ho'omau Church is Charles’ final resting place.
